April 2020 - Glastonbury Town Council has resolved unanimously to adopt the recommendations of their ‘5G Advisory Committee’, which was set up in 2019 to explore the safety of 5G technology, following a 6 month investigation.
Council recommendations:
1) Write to MPs and establish a Select Committee or Committee Inquiry into the safety or otherwise of fifth generation cellular network technology.
2) Write to Public Health England and the UK Government to ask them to convene independent scientific study into
a) non-thermal effects of fifth generation cellular network technology.
b) Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS).
3 Lobby the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) to take into account the non-thermal effects of radio frequency in their guidelines.
Glastonbury Town Council has resolved unanimously to continue their adoption of the Precautionary Principle; opposing the roll-out of 5G until further information is made available on the safety or otherwise of the technology.
